Dr. Mona Chauhan has been working in the field of biodiversity conservation in Indian Himalayan region since 2014. She is involved in assessment of faunal associations in the Western and Trans Himalaya has resulted in several successful monitoring and assessment programs. She has valuable experience in project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and stakeholder management. She had successfully coordinated with cross-functional teams, ensuring clear communication and efficient collaboration. She has expertise in capacity building of local communities, youth, school children and baseline agencies through workshop, hands-on trainings, and conservation awareness programs, preparation of Micromanagement Plans, State Biodiversity Action Plan and establishment of Butterfly Garden/Parks. She is particularly interested in landscape ecology and impact of forest fire on biodiversity focusing climate change and long term ecological monitoring. Currently, she is engaged as Project Coordinator at National Disaster Management Authority, New Delhi.
