Dr. Bitapi Sinha, formerly serving as Scientist-G and Senior Professor at the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun. She holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Science from Bharti Vidyapeeth University Pune. She has been actively engaged in teaching, research, nature interpretation, conservation education and wildlife tourism since 1993. Her interests include low cost planning and development of interpretive facilities, understanding the attitudes and benefit of wildlife tourism to the community living around the protected areas and preparing curriculum based conservation education programmes. She has been involved in planning and developing nature interpretive facilities in India and Bangladesh. Her expertise in training guides for visitor management in protected areas and teach Visitor Use Management and Interpretive Planning. Her mentorship has guided many young professionals for Master's dissertations and Ph. D thesis. Additionally, her mentorship has positively impacted the next generation of professionals in the field. Her significant contributions extend beyond research, as she has played important role as expert in national and international program for nature interpretation and conservation education.
